Encore Pianos: A History Steeped in Excellence

#

Encore Pianos continues a 30-year tradition of Kahn family stores by representing the finest brands of pianos from Europe and around the world. Our store manager, Ivan Kahn, has been helping people select pianos meeting their aesthetic, musical, and performance needs for more than thirty years. His experience and the expertise of the Encore Pianos staff can help you better than most any other store.

Ivan opened his first store in Dallas as Kahns for Pianos on Alpha Road in 1978. In 2003 the name was changed to Encore Pianos and moved to Midway Road. Finally, in 2008 the store changed ownership and moved to The Shops at Willow Bend, an upscale shopping center in Plano. Over the years, Ivan and his capable staff have sold most of the famous piano brands from Europe including Bechstein, Bösendorfer, Blüthner, Ibach, Steinway, Grotrian, Feurich, Pleyel, Dietmann, Petrof, and Sauter. Today's product line extends to include Yamaha, Kawai, Young Chang, Samick, Hailun, Mason & Hamlin, Steinway, and Baldwin.

Ivan has personally visited most of the fine piano factories of the world and knows many of the people who own and manage them. His family has made thousands of pianos under the names of Bernard Steiner, Ottobach, and Dietmann, and they have made pianos for many European companies after their factories were damaged in World War II. The brands include Ibach, Sauter, and others.

While many piano stores claim to offer the finest pianos in the world, Encore Pianos offers the largest variety of world-acclaimed pianos in the South Central United States. Our showroom features multiple piano brands and tiers, allowing you to experience various models side-by-side and see, hear, and feel the differences.
